Brighton Excelsior CC early Season 11s - 18th Jan

Just a gentle reminder that the Brighton Excelsior Cycling Club early Season 11’s is coming up very soon.

If January is just too soon to start thinking about real training then a club ride might be more realistic and what better place to come for a bacon butty and a cuppa to meet old friends and make new, ‘chew the fat’ and compare expanding waist lines while ticking off your upcoming race calendar than Washington village hall between 10:15am – 11:45am on the 18th January.

We would all love to see you there.

Brighton Excelsior CC Early Season 11’s

Happy New Year

It’s that time of year when the dark rainy days seem to merge together and we all need something to look forward too.

Well the wait is almost over as the Brighton Excelsior CC Early Season 11’s is on the 19th January 2014 at Washington Village Hall from 10:30am to 12noon.

This is the ideal chance to meet up with old mates and have a good old gossip over a cuppa, and plan your 2014 racing season.

There will be steaming hot mugs of tea and coffee, bacon butties, homemade cakes including Vanessa’s world famous bread pudding, a sale of cycling tops, a raffle and the long awaited 2014 Yellow Handbook (let’s hope we can read it this year I hear you all sigh)

Why don’t you use it as your training ride refreshment break or your weekend club run breakfast stop, either way you are guaranteed a warm welcome and a hot drink

Fingers crossed for good (not snowing) weather. We are all looking forward to seeing you on the 19th.

Brighton Excelsior CC's Early Season 11’s - CANCELLED

Hi Everyone

Brighton Excelsior Cycling Club have taken the very sad decision to CANCEL our Early Season 11’s event due to have been held at Washington Village Hall tomorrow, Sunday 20 January.

In view of the road conditions and anticipated further snowfall, we have concluded that the risk to safety of riders and other road users is to be avoided.

The Club apologises for any inconvenience caused and we hope to see some of you at our evening club events and Open events throughout the year.

Please can you circulate this update immediately to anyone who you have told about tomorrow and think may have intended to join us for what has always been an enjoyable social event to avoid them making the unnecessary and dangerous journey to Washington Village Hall in the morning.

Don’t forget I would still like to know if anyone has broken a course record during 2012 for the records.

Brighton Excelsior CC early season elevens event

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year

I want to let you know that on the 22nd January 2012 from 10:30am till 12pm in Washington Village Hall, we are having our early season elevens event, which we would like to invite you and your club mates too.

It’s our way of having all our club mates, and friends from other clubs come and join us for a bacon butty and cuppa and catch up with all the gossip and news before the racing season really starts with the Southdowns Bikes event on the 4th and 5th February

There will be a RAFFLE full of things that you just did not even know that you wanted.

Plus the big news is that the 2012 Yellow Handbook will be on sale.

Why don’t you use it as your training ride, refreshment break or your weekend club run breakfast stop, either way you are guaranteed a warm welcome and a hot drink.

Please can you pass on this invite to your club mates and I look forward to seeing you then.

PS: it’s also the time of year when I do my best to update the course records sheet, so if you either broke a course record/promoted an event where a record was broken/have a club mate that has broken a record/was riding in an event where the course record was broken.

Brighton Excel Early Season 11's

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year

Brighton Excelsior would like to invite EVERYONE to Washington Village Hall of our annual Early Season Elevenses Event

On 24th Jan 10 from 10.30am till 12.30pm

There will be bacon butties, rolls and home made cakes with tea and coffee by the bucket load = 'so come one come all'

Why not make it your 'Pit Stop' for your Sunday Club Run or Training Ride, you could have a cuppa before starting the homeward journey with that one final push for the next lamp-post!

Please can everyone tell at least 3 other cyclists (outside the club as well as club mates) so that the word gets around to everyone we know

If you would like to bring anything to sell there will be a table set out for cycling bric-a brac make sure you label all your items so people know who and what to pay, as I will not be monitoring this table at all during the morning

I will also try and do a Quiz, as I know that you all LOVE my quizzes!!!!!

All this excitement PLUS the CTT District's Yellow Handbook will be on sale for the bargain price of £2, what more can anyone ask of a Sunday morning in January?
